PRESENT PERFECT AND PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUO
PRESENT PERFECT
- Used to discuss actions that began or just happened in the past and still continue in the present.
- Present simple of the verb TO HAVE (have, has) + main verb participle.
The negative is formed with the negative particle "not" between the auxiliary and main verb
- The interrogative is constructed with the auxiliary at the beginning of the sentence, followed by the subject and main verb
PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS
- Is formed with the auxiliary verb "to be" in form of "present perfect" (have / has been), plus the gerund (-ing finished form) the main verb
- The negative form is built with the "present perfect" of the auxiliary verb in negative form (Subject + Have / has + not + Been + Verb-ing)
- The interrogative formula would be: Have / has + subject + Been + Gerund (-ing).
- The adverbs are usually accompanied by: Yet, always, never, ever, just, Already
- It is a time that is used primarily to refer to actions that were initiated in the past and at present are still developing (or just completed).
